The Sony Pictures Sound Editorial department strives to maintain a growing, viable sound library. Our library provides all of the latest commercial libraries available. In addition we have our own large Sound Effects Library that we’ve built up over the years from our past hit movies. Because of this our Sound Effects Library is always expanding.

Another way that we expand our sound library is the personal recording service we provide our clients. If clients need sound effects previously unavailable, we go on location to record new effects.

Sony Pictures stores all of it effects in one central location on an Apple XServe Raid. This makes using Soundminer server software to retrieve sound effects an easier and more efficient use of time.
