Richard Branca is Executive Vice President, Sound, Projection and Video at Sony Pictures Post Production Facilities. In this capacity, he manages the studio’s renowned re-recording sound operations, as well as projection, sound and video transfer and dvd audio restoration and mastering.
Mr. Branca has an extensive post production background, spanning over two decades on the Culver City lot. He began in 1980 in the MGM sound department and rose to supervisor in 1984. From 1986 to 1990, Mr. Branca held a series of progressively responsible post production positions at Lorimar, MGM/UA and Warner Bros. He joined Sony Pictures in 1990 as Director of Sound, Video and Projection. A native of Boston, Mr. Branca is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, the Society of Motion Picture & Television Engineers (SMPTE), the Cinema Audio Society and the Motion Picture Sound Editors.
